Is Adopt Your Olive legit?
Adopt Your Olive (adoptyourolive.com) gets the emotional product right. Run, the site says, by the de Sinno family of San Severo in Puglia, farming "since 1953," it sells adoptions from €79 to €219 where every certificate is handwritten and signed by a family member, your tree is photographed with a personal tag, and your bottles carry a custom label. At the €219 Family tier you receive five liters, which works out to €43.80 per liter: the lowest price for adoption oil in this entire series, and less than half of what several competitors charge. EU shipping is included.
The charm survives contact with our checklist better than some rivals, but not unscathed. The domain was registered in May 2025, making the web brand about fifteen months old regardless of how long the family has farmed. There are no reviews on Trustpilot, Google, or any independent platform we searched; the four testimonials on the homepage include two labeled Instagram "Creators," which usually means gifted or sponsored content rather than organic buyers. We found no press coverage. No organic certification is named; the site says "non-intensive farming" without "aggressive chemical pesticides," which is a farming philosophy, not a certificate. No lab data, acidity, or polyphenol numbers appear. And the "since 1953" history exists only on the company’s own pages; we could not independently confirm the grove or the family’s farming lineage.
Practicalities to know: fresh-harvest oil ships in January, with an option to take current stock immediately instead. Shipping outside the EU, including the US and UK, happens only by manual quote, with customs the buyer’s responsibility. Adoptions are strictly non-refundable.
Our verdict: the most likable thin file in the series. Everything about the product design suggests a real small farm doing things personally, and the price is genuinely excellent, but a fifteen-month-old site with zero third-party reviews and no certificates is asking for faith. For EU buyers the sensible move is a small first order, the €79 Welcome Kit, and judge the oil and the follow-through yourself before adopting at the Family tier.
